In 1992 one of europes most famous hardcore bands was born into this world. A few weeks after that, BRIGHTSIDE did a lot of support shows for legendary HC acts like BAD TRIP, SUPERTOUCH or YUPPICIDE, just to name a few, while first recordings were released on the "What's wrong with modern youth?" - 7" compilation, which is not available anymore. After releasing "Face the truth" MCD and a split-7" with straight-edge heroes UNBROKEN on Lost & Found Records, BRIGHTSIDE startet their first european tour supporting Detroits finest PITTBULL. In early 1996 the band entered the Stage-1-Studio the second time, to record their first full-length Album "Punchline" which became one of the best-sold european hardcore releases.
In 1996 did a STATE OF ALERT cover MCD called "No Policy" to pay tribute to the former band of Henry Rollins and the real roots of HC. Besides uncountable shows at the weekends the band did the traditional MAD X-Mas tour with ABHINANDA (Sweden), STORMECORE (France) and 3RD STATEMENT (Germany). In february 1997 BRIGHTSIDE did the support for BIOHAZARD's germany tour. After the tour Jörg, the drummer left the band and Ed joined.
In the middle of 1998 they entered the holy dungeons of Andy Classen's (former HOLY MOSES, RICHTHOFEN) Stage-1-Studios to record their second full length album "Bulletproof" which became a classic soon. In february 2000 BRIGHTSIDE did their first and very succesful headliner tour through Europe featuring first time new drummer Björn, where they played some shows with KILL YOUR IDOLS and the legendary CRO-MAGS. After that they blew away the tent-stage on full-force-open air.
1 year later BRIGHTSIDE conquered the studio to record their last album on Lost & Found Records, which is called "True Force". After that and a bunch of asskickin` shows and 10 years of blood, sweat and tears Kadde left the band and Simon joined. After only a few rehersals he accompanied BRIGHTSIDE to Greece to play two awesome shows in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Right now the guys are writing new songs for their new record. Be prepared for an asskickin punch in all hypocritical faces.
